SuperteamNG’s Startup Village Showcases Nigeria’s Growing Crypto InnovationExclusive

SuperteamNG, one of Africa’s fastest-growing DAOs, recently hosted the Startup Village, an event dedicated to top builders in Nigeria, who are developing projects on Solana.

Held in the heart of Lagos, the five-day program brought together over 800 talents from the Nigerian Solana ecosystem.

It featured workshops, startup accelerators, product breakout sessions, demos, and a competitive pitch event.

Builders Unveil Various Solana Products

The Startup Village highlighted remarkable projects built by Nigerian developers on Solana, showcasing the region’s growing Web3 adoption.

Among them was Airbills Pay, a Solana-powered platform that enables seamless payments for airtime, data, TV subscriptions, and other utility bills.

Another standout was Pajcash, a fast peer-to-peer (P2P) platform allowing users to transfer funds from a Solana wallet to a Pajcash account and receive local currency (Naira) within minutes.

SupplyVest also gained attention as an AI-powered DeFi and Real World Asset (RWA) platform that connects stablecoin liquidity to high-yield trade finance opportunities across Africa and Asia.

Other featured products included MagnetHQ, an AI agent for marketing, Chatter Wallet for global remittances, and Usestream, a live video streaming platform, all built on Solana.

These projects reflect the rapid growth and adoption of Solana technology in Nigeria.

Solana’s Growing Presence in Africa

SuperteamNG has played a crucial role in expanding Solana’s footprint in Africa. The Startup Village attracted major Solana ecosystem players, including Jupiter (Solana’s largest DEX aggregator), Drift Protocol, Solfare Wallet, and BONK, all of whom supported builders at the event.

Beyond Solana, the event also fostered cross-chain collaboration. Web3bridge, a DAO focused on Ethereum development, shared insights on lessons from Ethereum core builders.

Additionally, UseAzza, an AI-driven crypto trading assistant initially built on Base, announced its migration to Solana with support from SuperteamNG.

Pitch Competition and Global Opportunities for Nigerian Builders

A major highlight of the event was the Startup Village Pitch Competition, which awarded $5,000 in prizes.

Pajcash, TryKey Protocol, and Airbills Pay emerged as the top winners, further cementing Nigeria’s reputation as a hub for blockchain innovation.

SuperteamNG also selected 27 outstanding founders and developers from the event to represent Nigeria at the upcoming Solana APEX event in South Africa, providing them with a global platform to showcase their products and attract investors.

SuperteamNG: A Driving Force in Africa’s Web3 Expansion

Since its founding in June 2023 by Nzube Ezube and Harrison Obiefule, SuperteamNG has grown into a community of over 120,000 active members.

Its Superteam Earn platform has provided over 1,600 opportunities, distributing over $3.8 million in earnings to African crypto talent.

The community’s impact aligns with a recent Electric Capital report, which revealed that Solana has surpassed Ethereum in attracting new developers, over 7,625 in 2024, the highest since 2016.

The report also highlighted rising developer activity across Africa, South America, and Asia, signaling a global shift in crypto innovation.

Nigeria’s Crypto Talent Gains Global Recognition

Africa’s growing role in the crypto space is not going unnoticed.

Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Sui Foundation, recently launched a $1.3 million endowment fund to provide aspiring Nigerian software engineers with access to quality tech education.

Additionally, Nigerian-founded AltSchool Africa partnered with leading crypto exchange Bybit to sponsor 1,000 scholarships, covering courses in software engineering, data analytics, and product management.

This follows a previous partnership between AltSchool and Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange.

With increasing investments in Nigeria’s crypto talent and innovative products emerging from the SuperteamNG incubator, the country, and Africa are poised to attract global funding and strengthen their position as key players in the Web3 space.
