Bybit Partners with AltSchool Africa, Launches $100K Scholarship Fund

Bybit, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has partnered with AltSchool Africa to establish Bybit Academy and launch a $100,000 scholarship fund.

This initiative will provide 1,000 students with access to quality education and essential tech skills, fostering digital literacy and economic empowerment across Africa.

A Landmark Initiative for Africa’s Youth

On March 19, Bybit announced its partnership with AltSchool Africa, a leading talent development platform, to establish Bybit Academy and launch a $100,000 scholarship fund.

The institution offers a diverse range of diploma programs and short courses in Software Engineering, Data Science, Product Management, the Creative Economy, and Business.

Beyond academics, AltSchool provides mentorship, career counseling, recruitment support, and job placement services to ensure its graduates can access rewarding global career opportunities.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with Bybit,” said Adewale Yusuf, CEO of AltSchool Africa.

“This sponsorship goes beyond a traditional scholarship program. It represents a shared vision for a future where young Africans are not only tech-savvy but also empowered to lead their communities into a prosperous digital age.”

Selection Criteria and Opportunities for Growth

Bybit revealed that scholarship recipients will be selected based on predefined criteria, including academic performance, entrance exam scores, priority countries, and gender diversity.

The program is designed to be inclusive and impactful, ensuring that a broad spectrum of students can benefit from it.

In addition to financial support, Bybit will further enrich the learning experience by offering mentorship programs. Product managers from the company will facilitate sessions on technology and digital assets, helping students develop practical, hands-on skills.

Furthermore, the top 10 program graduates will have an opportunity to become Bybit Interns, Ambassadors, or ByBUILDERS, fostering professional growth within the Bybit ecosystem.

Bybit Investing in Africa’s Digital Transformation

The partnership was solidified in a formal agreement attended by key stakeholders, including Bybit’s Co-founder & COO, Helen Liu, and AltSchool Africa’s leadership team.

Through this collaboration, both organizations seek to bridge the digital skills gap and cultivate a talent pipeline that drives technological and economic progress in Africa.

“Education is a powerful catalyst for change, and Africa’s young population stands to benefit from unprecedented accessibility to technology in this day and age,” said Helen Liu, COO of Bybit.

“Through our partnership with AltSchool Africa and the establishment of the Bybit Academy, we are committed to providing opportunities that foster growth, innovation, and resilience.”

Lately, Nigeria’s crypto and tech ecosystem has been thriving, thanks to initiatives like SuperteamNG’s Startup Village and Mysten Labs’ $1.3M fund for software engineers.

All these efforts are geared towards the mission of empowering African youth through digital education and innovation.
